Dine, Drink & Play

Napa Valley Nightlife, Entertainment & Dining

Napa Valley is the country’s top destination for award-winning wines, fantastic cuisine and sheer fun. But with over 400 wineries and an endless selection of restaurants and activities to choose from, how will you know which to visit while you’re in town?

At Chablis Inn, we make it easy. Our expert staff has done all the detective work, so you don’t have to spend precious vacation time Googling reviews from your hotel room. From the best food truck in town to a little-known wine co-op, here is our list of the best places to dine, drink and play in Napa Valley.

DINE

Downtown Napa:

  • Ubuntu – You won’t experience anything like this at home, we promise. The menu is vegetables only, and there’s even a yoga studio upstairs.
  • Farm at Carneros Inn – Enjoy organic farm-fresh food in a charming atmosphere
  • Azzuro Pizzeria e Enoteca – Great casual environment with a brick oven for pizzas. Perfect space for the family.
  • Oenotri – All house-made foods, including pastas and salumi. This is the place to be in Napa’s newly revived downtown.
  • Tacos Michoacan Taco Truck – (various locations) Everyone has their opinions on the best taco truck in Napa, but this is a favorite. Start here and make your own decision.
  • Morimoto Napa – A new restaurant from Iron Chef Morimoto, located at the new Napa Riverfront project.
  • Bounty Hunter Wine Bar & Smokin’ BBQ
  • La Toque – Known as one of the best restaurants for wine and food pairings in the U.S.
  • ABC Bakery – Great local spot for breakfast.
  • Gott’s Roadside – It’s “tray gourmet.”
  • Model Bakery – This bakery at Oxbow Market has a great breakfast sandwich and coffee.
  • La Taquiza Fish Tacos – Awarded a “Bib Gourmand” by Michelin.
  • ZuZu – Serves a selection of small plates at small prices.

St. Helena:

  • Gott’s Roadside – Try the ahi burger or the Miss Kentucky, and don’t forget the sweet potato fries. It’s worth the line! (There’s one in downtown Napa at the Oxbow Plaza as well).
  • Farmstead – All the buzzwords – local, fresh, sustainable – and the food to back it up! Their gardens and cattle are right up the hill in St Helena.
  • Go Fish – Fish in all its glory, from sushi to fish tacos to oysters on the half shell.
  • Auberge du Soleil – Near St. Helena in Rutherford, this bistro serves great breakfast on a patio overlooking the valley.
  • La Luna Market – Also near St. Helena in Rutherford, La Luna serves amazing burritos and tacos.
  • Rutherford Grill – Hang out with local winemakers at the bar on Fridays.

Yountville:

  • The French Laundry
  • Bouchon Bistro – One of several restaurants from Chef Thomas Keller, a must when you are in Napa Valley.
  • Mustards – After 15 years, everything is great on the menu. Our must-try dish? The Mongolian Pork Chop.
  • Bistro Jeanty – Classic French bistro menu with a great outdoor patio. The communal table is a great place to see and be seen.
  • Redd – Those in the know eat at the bar, not at a table.

DRINK

(Be sure to designate a driver or call a cab so you don’t leave with an unexpected gift from Napa’s finest!)

Napa:

  • Henry’s Cocktail Lounge – Very local.
  • Oenotri – Great cocktails and snacks at the bar.
  • Norman Rose Tavern – Big selection of microbrews. (Located next door to Oenotri, so make a bar crawl out it!)
  • The Grill at the Silverado Country Club – The perfect place to drink after a game of golf.
  • Steltzner Vineyard – Offers great varietals.

St. Helena

  • Farmstead – Hang outside during the summer and enjoy the gardens.
  • Martini House – Great downstairs bar space. During the winter months Chef Todd Humphries forages wild mushrooms for some amazing meals.
  • Dean & DeLuca – Visit the wine shop or schedule a private tasting.

Yountville

  • Bouchon – Small, classic French bistro zinc bar, the place to be in Napa Valley.
  • Panchas – No trip is complete without a visit to this smoky local dive bar, but avoid the couches – they’ve been there for a while.
  • Bottega Restaurant – Have a glass of wine on the patio. They serve wine in a quartino, so you are actually getting a glass and a half.

Cab Companies

  • Black Tie Taxi – Call ahead as they can get busy on weekends and in the summer.

PLAY

Sports

  • Lake Berryessa – About an hour away, you can enjoy all water sports and rentals during the warm season (which lasts until October)!
  • Napa Valley Bike Tours – Based in Yountville, they will set up a “must see” ride, including the best restaurants and wineries. They even have electric bikes, which might make for an easier return trip in the afternoon.

  • Vintner’s Golf Club – This championship nine-hole resort course features three different sets of tees, so players of all skill levels will enjoy it. The best news? It’s only 10 minutes from the hotel.
  • Bocce Ball – Available in Yountville and St. Helena.

Spas

  • Villagio – Great indoor/outdoor space with separate areas for men and women. Amazing facials and manicures.
  • Solage Calistoga – If you aren’t interested in the communal mud bath experience, do it here with volcanic ash and hot mineral water. Your own individual mudslide! More Info
  • Napa Spa – In downtown Napa, this is an affordable way to find your bliss.
